Ben Fox of Shepherd Media, a group devoted to books, helping readers find them, and providing authors with exposure, invited me to describe five books that highly influenced me in writing The Appalachian Forest. This involved an intense trip through my many shelves of books about Appalachia and its globally unique, incredibly biodiverse woodlands. After much thought, I wrote up why each of these five were deep influencers.
